Dr. Vargas was an associate professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Dows Institute for Dental Research at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, Iowa City, IA for 10 years. She received her dental degree at Cayetano University in Lima, Peru, her post-doctoral training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, NY and her PhD in Oral Science from the University of Iowa and has published numerous articles in both national and international journals.
She received her Pediatric Dentistry board certification in 2000 and is currently serving as immediate past president of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She has been in full time private practice for nearly 4 years in North Liberty, IA. Dr. Vargas has two wonderful children and when she is not engaged in dentistry, she enjoys biking, boxing and martial arts.
