After both examination sections are successfully completed, the candidate is awarded a ten-year, time-limited certificate. Diplomates who have kept their knowledge current in the specialty, through continuing education courses, study groups, journal clubs, etc. should successfully complete the examination to maintain their certification.
Successful completion will be rewarded with continued certification for another ten-year period for the time-limited Diplomate.
Non time-limited Diplomates may voluntarily take the examination without loss of status, regardless of outcome.
Note: This is notification that when an individual pays by check you are authorizing ABPD to convert your check to an electronic entry. This means you will not receive your check back in your financial institution statement. If your check is returned to us due to insufficient or uncollected funds, it may be re-presented electronically and your account will be debited.
