Renewal of Certification Examination (ROC)
After both examination sections are successfully completed, the candidate is awarded a ten-year, time-limited certificate. Diplomates who have kept their knowledge current in the specialty, through continuing education courses, study groups, journal clubs, etc. should successfully complete the examination to maintain their certification. Successful completion will be rewarded with continued certification for another ten-year period for the time-limited Diplomate. Non time-limited Diplomates may voluntarily take the examination without loss of status, regardless of outcome.
