Chair Highlight - Anupama Tate, DMD, MPH
The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) is pleased to have Dr. Anupama Tate serving as Co-Chair of the Qualifying Examination Subcommittee (QES) along with co-Chair Dr. Man Wai Ng in 2017.
Dr. Tate received her D.M.D. degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and her M.P.H. degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Children’s National Health Systems.
Dr. Tate is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine. She is a faculty member in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s National Health Systems where she serves as the Director of Advocacy and Research. She also is
Co-Director of the District of Columbia Pediatric Oral Health Coalition.
In addition, she was appointed as the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children Foundation and chairs the Grants and Program. She also serves on the Evidence-Based Dentistry Committee, Council of Clinical Affairs, and the Chairs the Consumer Review Committee of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD). She is the Public Policy Advocate for District of Columbia for the AAPD as well, and is a Research Fellow for the AAPD Pediatric Oral Health Research and Policy Center.
Dr. Tate became an ABPD Diplomate in 2006. She has served as a member of the Examination Committee since 2010. She served as a QES Part Leader before becoming Chair.
The QES Chair works with Subcommittee members and Part Leaders to develop examination questions and construct the examination. She also collaborates with the QES Board Liaison to ensure that a valid and reliable Qualifying Examination is developed. Dr. Tate brings exceptional leadership skills and knowledgeable examination writing and editing expertise to her role.« back to listing
