Dr. Nancy “Suzi” Seale Coll

It is with a heavy heart that the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) shares the passing of Dr. Nancy “Suzi” Seale Coll on April 14, 2018. Suzi was Board Certified on November 10, 1984 and provided long time service to the ABPD Past Advisory Council, ABPD Examination Committee and as an Examiner for the ABPD Oral Clinical Examination. She and her husband, Jim, just retired from ABPD's Examination Committee last Fall.

Suzi specialized in Pediatric Dentistry at Baylor, graduating as the first female from the residency in 1972. She taught at the University of Pittsburgh until 1974 when she returned to Baylor to teach in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry until her retirement in March 2017.

She became chairman of the department of Pediatric Dentistry in 1986. She was the first woman to head a major department in a dental school in the United States. She was named a Regents Professor by Texas A&M Baylor University System in 1997, an honor held by just nine of 5,000 faculty at the time. After her retirement Suzi was awarded Professor Emeritus designation.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21 at Saint Patrick's Church, 231 S. Beaver St., York, with a viewing from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial. Reception to follow services. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. is assisting with arrangements.

Family and friends are invited to the Country Club of York, 1400 Country Club Rd., York, for a celebration of Suzi's life at approximately 4 p.m.
