Dr. William Berlocher

It is with a heavy heart we announce that Dr. William C. Berlocher of Corpus Christi, TX has passed away. Board certified on October 12, 1983, Dr. Berlocher served as a director of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) from 1988-1995 and as Chariman (today’s President) from 1994-1995. 

Dr. Berlocher served as AAPD president from 2009-2010. He attended dental school at the University of Texas Dental Branch, received his pediatric dental certificate from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) and received a master’s in education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Berlocher practiced in Corpus Christi, where he and his wife Alma raised three children.

Among many leadership roles, Dr. Berlocher served as president of the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and as the director of the South Texas Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies Team. He was a fellow of the American College of Dentists. Dr. Berlocher’s achievements have been recognized through the AAPD Merle C. Hunter Leadership Award and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from UTHSCSA.
