Qualifying Exam Update:
April 28, 2020 - The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) continues to investigate different dates and test delivery methods for the 2020 Qualifying Examination (QE). This includes looking into online proctoring, rescheduling with the testing centers, and other secure and reliable options. We understand the desire for a concrete decision but unfortunately, we are not able to provide one at this time.
A prominent concern from test takers has been adequate test preparation time. We plan to give, at a minimum, 8 weeks’ notice of the new administration plan for the 2020 QE. Please note that if the new date will not work for your schedule, you will have an opportunity to cancel for a full refund and reapply for the 2021 QE.
If you feel at this point you must cancel your participation in the 2020 QE and defer to 2021, please email Headquarters at email@example.com to receive a full refund. We will continue to communicate updates and hope to have a definitive plan in place by late May.
Lastly, the examination has been postponed with PearsonVue. If you hear otherwise, please disregard. You do not need to contact PearsonVue to cancel or reschedule your examination date. ABPD will coordinate all examination logistics with PearsonVue and communicate any updates with you directly.
Oral Clinical Exam Update:
April 3, 2020 - The ABPD Board of Directors and Headquarters are hopeful that we will be able to administer the 2020 Oral Clinical Examination (OCE) in Dallas, TX, in September. We are closely monitoring information provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) on COVID-19. We will provide you another update on May 15, 2020.
We understand if you are no longer able to participate in the OCE this year. If this is the case, we will offer you a refund. We have currently extended the April 1 cancellation deadline to May 15, 2020. If you would like to proceed with canceling your examination, please email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
