The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Edward Ginsberg as its new president. Dr. Ginsberg brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the role, having served the ABPD in various capacities for almost two decades.

Dedicated to Pediatric Dentistry

A 1982 honors graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Dr. Ginsberg completed his pediatric dental specialty training at the same institution in 1984.

Dr. Ginsberg has been a board-certified diplomate of ABPD since 1992 and has significantly contributed to ABPD’s mission through various leadership roles. His extensive service to the organization includes serving as an examiner for the Oral Clinical Examination (OCE) since 2008, and as an OCE Subcommittee member, part leader, and chair. He has served on the ABPD board of directors for the last four years.

In addition to his contributions to ABPD, Dr. Ginsberg serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Maryland and has been a part-time faculty member since 1985. He is also a member of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Craniofacial Team and an examiner for the sedation committee of the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners.

Committed to Professional Development

Dr. Ginsberg’s professional affiliations include being a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He has also held the presidency of the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Maryland Society of Dentistry for Children. As a life member of the OKU dental honor society and an alumnus of the AAPD Kellogg Leadership Institute at Northwestern University, Dr. Ginsberg's commitment to professional development and leadership is evident.

Beyond Professional Achievements

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Ginsberg enjoys a fulfilling personal life with his wife, Jeannie. They are proud parents of two children and grandparents to four grandsons. In his leisure time, Dr. Ginsberg is an avid swimmer, biker, runner, and golfer, often enjoying these activities with his family.

A Leader for the Future of ABPD

In a statement on the goals he hopes to achieve in his position within the coming year, Dr. Ginsberg said, “As chair of the Continuing Certification Task Force, I look forward to the development of the new ABPD continuing certification program during this coming year.”

As he steps into the role of President of ABPD, Dr. Ginsberg is poised to lead the organization with the same dedication and excellence that have defined his career.
