If you’re already board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD), then you already know a little about the annual Renewal of Certification Process (ROC-P). For everyone else, ABPD has developed its ROC-P program to continuously validate each Diplomate's knowledge, skills and experience for delivering quality patient outcomes. This validation happens through a few requirements including Continuous Quality Improvement modules (CQI), CE credit, as well as the Renewal of Certification Examination required every 10 years.

Did you know that you can now receive CE credit for completing your ABPD Renewal of Certification each year?

In order to enhance our Continuing Education (CE) program, ABPD applied for and was awarded Continuing Education Recognition Provider status through the American Dental Association Commission for Continuing Education Provider Recognition (CCEPR) in 2016. Guided by the Continuing Education Recognition Program (CERP) Standards and Procedures, ABPD offers accreditation for continuing education hours.

That’s right!  All the hard work that you put into renewing your ABPD board certification each year can help you reach your CE goals for your state boards or other requirements!

The following CE credits are available to Diplomates participating in the Renewal of Certification Process:

Ten (10) CE credits will be awarded and recorded automatically on your dashboard upon completion of ABPD's Renewal of Certification Examination.
One (1) CE credit will be awarded and automatically recorded on your dashboard for completion of each Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) module. These modules are either question/answer or case scenario-based modules from the AAPD Guidelines and Policies and their associated reference.
ABPD offers over 50 CQI modules, with topics our Diplomates can apply toward their daily practice. Topics range from Caries Risk, Sedation, Pulp Therapy, Child Abuse and many more. Login today to see available CQIs and start earning CE!

The best part? While you are only required to complete two annually, you can complete as many as you want. Happy learning and CE earning!
