The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is pleased to have Dr. Greg Olson, DDS, MS serving as the Chair of the Renewal of Certification Process (ROC-P) Subcommittee. Dr. Olson received his Doctorate of
Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He received a post-doctoral Master of Science degree, as well as Certificates in both Pediatric Dentistry, and Orthodontics and Dentofacial
Orthopedics from Loma Linda University.

After several years in private practice he returned to Loma Linda University where he is an associate professor in the Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) School of Dentistry for the Departments of Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, and Oral Diagnosis, Pathology and Radiology, and provides care at the LLUH Faculty Dental Practice. He teaches courses in leadership and communication skills for healthcare professionals and directs evidence-based practice for the dental school.

In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Olson is active in national health policy and he holds a Faculty Scholar position with the LLUH Institute for Health Policy and Leadership. His current advocacy efforts are focused on the opioid abuse crisis, bridging the divide between healthcare fields, and promoting whole-person health.

Dr. Olson was certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) in 2006. His service with ABPD began in 2012 as a member of the ROC-P Subcommittee and also as an examiner for the Oral Clinical Examination. He served as a Part Leader for the ROC Examination prior to becoming the Chair of the ROC-P Subcommittee.

As Chair, Dr. Olson works with the subcommittee members to write examination and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) module content. His strong leadership skills and focus on evidence-based practice have helped to make the ROC Examination and CQI modules clinically relevant with the best scientific evidence for practice. He works with the ROC-P Board Liaison to ensure that the ROC-P Subcommittee is completing the tasks set forth by the Board of Directors of the ABPD to ensure quality of the Renewal of Certification Process.
